Kintsugi (Japanese 金 継 ぎ - gold patch), or kintsukuroi (Japanese 金 繕 い - gold repair), is the Japanese art of restoring ceramics using varnish obtained from the sap of lacquer wood (urushi) mixed with gold, silver or platinum powder.
